EMDR psychotherapy is based on the idea that traumatic memories are improperly stored in the brain, causing distress when triggered. The therapy involves bilateral stimulation (typically guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones) while recalling traumatic memories, which helps the brain reprocess them in a less distressing way.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing images and memories are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. Matt Nalder, MCP, BHSc, BA — Therapy for Therapists, Supervision & Individual Therapy Who Matt works best with Matt supports therapists, healthcare professionals, and thoughtful individuals who feel emotionally tired, over-responsible, or caught in familiar patterns — even though they’re highly capable in their work. If you’re used to being the one who understands others but feel stuck in your own life, this work is for you. What clients notice People who work with Matt often describe gaining clarity without judgment. Sessions help untangle recurring thoughts and behaviours, reconnect to purpose, and move forward with a stronger sense of agency — without feeling analyzed or evaluated. How Matt works Matt’s approach is grounded, structured, and collaborative. Therapy focuses on identifying what’s no longer working and developing practical, values-aligned ways to respond differently.

This is not supervision and not skill-building — it’s a space to step out of the clinician role and work on your own patterns, meaning, and well-being.

Who this is especially helpful for:

  • Therapists seeking therapy (not supervision)
  • Clinicians navigating burnout, doubt, or identity fatigue
  • Individuals who want insight and structure
  • People who appreciate thoughtful, goal-oriented conversations

Approach & Experience: Matt draws from evidence-based practices including cognitive-behavioural and Adlerian-informed therapy, integrating insight, accountability, and compassion in a way that feels human and effective.
